Bowls Oak Bay - Juniors program photos, 2003

At a practice in August:

Two girls are brand new to the game. Coach Rick gives them their first lesson, including how to deliver a jack. First, toss it up in the air... :-)

Now practice - don't worry, in a game you don't have to be synchronized. :-)

A happy latecomer. (She's not happy because she is late. Let me rephrase my original statement...)

Setting up for the next end.

Happy faces! Only the one on the left was staged for the camera. :-)

While one game goes on, the lesson continues.

These two are to be partners in an upcoming tournament.

Setting up a drill - drawing to a jack which is hidden.

A picture of concentration.

Group prayer to the lawn bowling gods??

Nice delivery!

Spectators...

The paper shows you just how close those bowls were - not an easy target to beat.

It's not only the coach that can help out.

Look at that!

They may be "juniors", but they're pretty good...

Yes!

More lessons, and a fun drill.

No, actually that's stretching a bit too far. :-)

Much better!

Very good!

And over on the next rink...

Someone is very happy with her shot.

Today's reward for great shots: a necklace. It looks like that shot might qualify!
